This recipe was on an old site of mine which has long disappeared.
When my kids were young they loved being in the kitchen and always wanted to cook for themselves. Now at the time they were 6 and 4 years old so I had to simplify the method to make cookies (or anything else) so that the kids could follow.
This is the first recipe which was for Chocolate Chip cookies. The recipe isn't anything different, but the tools are simply
1. A mixing bowl
2. A wooden spoon
3. A teaspoon from the drawer (not a real measuring spoon as the kids will always choose the wrong one). Teach them the "Little spoon in the drawer"
4. A 1/4 cup measuring cup. I purchased one and wrote my kids names on it with a black marker.
5. An ice cream scoop (optional, the little spoon works well too)

Optional
The nice thing about this recipe, is you can add so many things to it. If you want Peanut Butter cookies, remove the nuts and 1/2 a stick of butter then put 2 scoops of crunchy peanut butter. I like banana walnut cookies, so I reduce the butter by 1/5 stick, then I add 1-2 mashed bananas along with walnuts. As good as banana bread but in a cookie.
